Creating Tasks

Tasks are the core of Flock Care. Every call, visit, meal delivery, or prayer you want to track becomes a task.

  1. Click the + button on the dashboard (or go to Tasks+).
  2. Choose the interaction type — call, visit, meal, etc.
  3. Fill in the details:
    • Title — a short description (e.g., “Check in after surgery”)
    • Description — any additional context for whoever handles this task
    • Member — the person receiving care
    • Assigned to — the team member responsible
    • Due date — when it should happen
  4. Optionally, mark as sensitive if the task involves private pastoral information.
  5. Click Save.

You can also create a task directly from a member’s profile. The member is automatically linked.

Every task can be assigned to a specific team member. The assigned person will see the task on their dashboard. If you leave it unassigned, it appears as available for anyone on the team.

When a task is done, mark it as complete. Add any notes about the interaction — these become part of the member’s care timeline.

Toggle the sensitive flag on tasks that contain private information. Sensitive tasks are only visible to users with appropriate permissions (admins and staff). See Roles & Permissions for details.
